Who we are

Abdelrahman is the Founding Principal Investigator of VGAP Lab at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Vision and Deep Learning from Linköping University, Sweden, and brings over 11 years of combined academic and industrial experience across Sweden, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia — including postdoctoral research in Generative AI at KAUST. His work bridges academic excellence with societal impact: high-impact publications with thousands of citations, the supervision of more than 20 postgraduate students, over 10 courses designed and taught, and leadership of multiple industrial collaborations across telecom, government, and sports analytics.
